Since 2000, UFS Technology has been the organisation appointed to carry out Research and Development for UFS (R&D).
A laboratory equipped for the control of metallographic and coating processes, machine tools to test operation and the life of tools, as well as highly specialised staff, make UFS Technology the strategic unit for the evolution of products.
Ufs Technology works with national and international organisations on projects aimed to improve the performance of tools for processing hard to handle materials. These organisations include: Politecnico di Torino, CNR, Aachen University, Bilbao University, Helsinki University. The equipment and instruments used by UFS Technology enable the running of functional and stress tests on the tools, using various types of material:
• NC unit for testing, equipped with torque stress measuring instruments and data memory (torque time, electrical absorption, temperatures reached, influence of lubricants and coolants)
• Metallographic laboratory for structural analyses (hardness), optical tests and measuring adhesions, thickness and roughness (coatings)
The UFS technical team is able to offer you help with the use of UFS tools; if you are in difficulty, it will help you choose the best product for your processing needs. The Design Department (D.D.) processes the instructions and results that emerge from the Research studies, implementing improvements to the definition of new standard and “special” products. The D.D. is also the UFS department most involved in supporting the activities of Customers when they wish to take advantage of our experience (searching for the right product, possible alternatives, definition of special products also via “co-design” ).
UFS Technology has the job of checking compliance with the functional and performance parameters indicated in the Technical Catalogue and the evolution of UFS product quality, in relation to the three product lines sold (TOP, PLUS, LINE). UFS Technology tests all special products for compliance with Customer specifications.
